About this event

Join us at the Tentacle Zone and Payload Studios on 6 February for an event dedicated to game localisation in partnership with the SOAS Centre for Translation Studies and The Japan Foundation.

This free event allows game developers, students and educators to learn more about localising games, focusing in particular on launching games in Japan. Those interested in entering the localisation industry can get advice directly from those with decades of experience.

After an introduction by Russ Clarke – CEO & Co-Founder of Payload Studios – the evening begins with a panel discussion featuring industry veterans, including publishers, developers, academics, service providers and hands-on localisation experts.

Topics expected to be covered include:

  • Common pitfalls that developers face when localising their games, with particular reference to bringing games to Japan.
  • Linguistic and cultural considerations when bringing your game to certain countries.
  • AI and machine learning and what they mean for the future of the localisation industry.
  • Advice for students and others looking to enter the game localisation industry.

Following the panel, there will be time to meet your fellow attendees and network over snacks and drinks.
